Whatever is your thing, whether you like a gentil stroll after lunch or a 10 km run you can do it all at Les Rivières.
The quiet lane to the gites runs along the river Lizonne and offers lovely views around every bend. A peaceful stroll to our own private fishing lake is easy walking or cycling for all ages.
Walks straight from the gites into the wild bluebell woods. Criss-crossed with tracks recently opened by les Gardiens de Patrimoine club in La Rochebeaucourt. Cool dappled shade ,listen out for the cuckoo calling, a woodpecker tapping or deer barking.
The lane stays in the shade all morning so it is possible to put in a nice run even in the height of summer. Pass through the secret wild mushroom hunting ground, returning through the cool woods behind the gites direct to the door.

Cycle to the arboretum at Blanzaguet for a picnic, stopping of for a cool beer at DEE DEE’s. This is a must! Support our lovely Dee Dee, 90 years young and her bar in Champagne Fontaine.
The Plateau d’Argentine is a 500 acre nature reserve based around an old aerodrome. Marked walks take you to the wartime Demarcation line, old railway lines and bridges, troglodytic caves and roman roads.
The off road tracks are ideal for mountain biking. I have put together several routes to take in sleepy villages, chateau and/or a lazy lunch.
We recommend for the serious cyclistes that bikes are hired from www.bikehiredirect.com
